I've been collecting since 2009 although most of my dolls from the early days have long since moved on. Prior to that was more interested in art dolls & art toy figures.
I wasn't really interested in the hobby in the early days as, compared to art dolls & the growing art toy industry, I felt early Volks commercial BJDs paled by comparison to the works of doll artists such as Amano Katan & Lisa Lichtenfels or Michael Lau's figures. However, when I stumbled across resin BJDs again in the late 2000s & owners had begun to throw a lot more of their own amazing creativity in making for, customising & photographing their dolls plus the hugely improved variety of what was available to hobbyists, things changed considerably & suddenly I was in love.
I held of joining here for some time after a fiaso surrounding another forum that came into being at the same time plus eagerly awaiting the completion of Lovely Everyone so had been concerned I might be wasting my time.
